MCS Third Grade Trout in the Classroom!

MCS Third Grade Trout in the Classroom!

The MCS Third Graders have been busy raising our 4th batch of trout! Our brown trout eggs arrived on October 4th and finished hatching on October 11th. This is much earlier than when we've received eggs in the past. We will continue to raise them in our classroom as long as we can. They are growing very quickly! The months of April and May will be spent studying these magnificent creatures more in depth before we release them to a local stream. Many thanks to the Dave Brandt Chapter of Trout Unlimited for the donation of equipment, delivery of eggs, and set up. We are also very thankful for our fantastic custodial staff who makes sure our trout are happy and fed when we are not in school.

Special thanks to the Dave Brandt Chapter of Trout Unlimited for providing this opportunity for our students. We are also very thankful to MEF, Mr. Gregory, and Mrs. Gregory for making this live stream possible. Enjoy!  - Mrs. Burkhart's Third Grade Science Classes
