Greetings!!

It is my sincere hope this message finds you well and enjoying the last few days of summer.  The purpose of this update is to provide you with several important reminders as we start the school year.  I especially want to bring your attention to the bulleted information focused on arrival to and dismissal from school.  We are trying to reduce the congestion in the school parking lot and asking that parents not enter the parking lot any time the buses are in the lot.  Please see the information below for more details.  Also, please refer to the “Return to School Plan” located on the school website.

*1 - 1^st day of school:   We are very excited to begin the new school year!  The first day for students will be Tuesday, September 7^th.  I am excited to meet you all and looking forward to having students in the building.  Be sure to check out the calendar of activities which you will find on the school website.  If you are at a home soccer game, please be sure to introduce yourself to me!!

*2 - Early Dismissal:  On Wednesday, September 8^th dismissal will be at 1:30pm.  The early dismissal is due to a required made of the district to have our buses off the road by the time the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony concludes and participants at that event try to leave Cooperstown.  Organizers from the BHOF and the State Police made this request in an effort to eliminate as many traffic problems and backups as possible.

*3 - Universal Masking Requirement:  As was shared at our recent presentation of the Return to School Plan, the State of New York Department of Health has issued a Mandatory Mask requirement for everyone in school.  All students, staff and any person entering the school building must be worn.  Please see the “Return to School Plan” located on the school website for details. 

*4 - Daily Arrival to School:  If you are bringing your children to school, please be sure to arrive between 7:30 – 7:45am.  Parents are not to enter the parking lot when the buses are in the lot. The school doors will open at 7:30am for those parents needing to bring their child(ren) to school. Please see the “Return to School Plan” for more details.     

*5 - Daily Dismissal from School:  Parents are asked not to enter the school parking lot between 2:30pm and 3:10pm.  Please make every effort to schedule appointments so that you can pick up your child either before 2:30pm or after 3:10pm.   Students waiting to be picked up will do so in the lobby area/entrance to the school or in the cafeteria.          

*6 - MEF Golf Tournament: Save the Date!!  On Sunday, September 19, 2021, the Milford Educational Foundation will be hosting a Golf Tournament at the Ouleout Golf Course.  Golfing starts at 8:00am.  Check out the school newsletter and website for more information.
