Health and Attendance Office
Attendance
We encourage ALL students to be in school ALL day. Their education is important. Coming and going during class time is disruptive not only to the student in transit, but also to the other students in the classroom. However, we understand that not all appointments can be scheduled outside of the school day.
You may send necessary emails or signed notes to the Attendance Office with notification of a student’s illness, college visit, or other excused reason to explain why the student will not be in school. Once the email is received, the attendance can be recorded and thus eliminate the automated phone call that day. This email will be saved and filed. Therefore, a follow-up written note is not necessary.
If a student is being picked up early, please send them to school with a note including date, time to be picked up, reason for pickup, and name of the person picking up your student. This person MUST be listed on the emergency contact list and ID will be verified before the student is released. The student will be given a pass to leave class at the specified time for pickup. However, please make every effort for students to be picked up in between classes, not during class time. Please try to avoid picking up a student without prior notification as we try not to interrupt class time with phone calls into the room.
Students who arrive late to school must sign-in at the Attendance Office upon arrival. Please send a student in with a note explaining the reason he/she is arriving late. They will then be given a pass to show the classroom teacher. Please make every effort to get your child to school on time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call.
