There are two vacant seats on the Board of Education as of July 1, 2024. You are asked to vote for two of the listed candidates with the option to add a write-in vote. The two candidates with the highest number of votes will serve for a three-year term commencing July 1, 2024 and expiring on June 30, 2027.

BOARD OF EDUCATION PETITIONS FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

There are two vacating seats on the Board of Education beginning July 2024. Petitions nominating candidates for a three-year term shall be filed with the Clerk of Milford Central School not later than Monday, April 22, 2024, before 4:00 p.m. Each petition shall be directed to the Clerk of the District and shall be signed by at least twenty-five qualified voters of the District, and must state the name and residence of the candidate. Important Notice: A candidate has withdrawn their petition to run for the school board.

Education Law 2608 -  If a candidate for whom a nominating petition for the office of member of a board of education has been duly filed withdraws such petition, dies or becomes otherwise ineligible to hold such office at a time which is later than fifteen days before the last day for the filing of nominating petitions as provided in this subdivision, the time for filing nominating petitions for such office shall be extended to five p.m. on the fifteenth day after the date on which the candidate withdrew, died or otherwise became ineligible to hold such office, provided that no such nominating petition may be filed after five p.m. on the seventh day preceding the election.

Therefore, the District has reopened the timeframe to file candidacy petitions through May 14th at 5:00PM

Petitioners who have filed petitions have been contacted and do not need to refile.
