Dear Community Members and Parents,

I am excited to share some updates on our Sports and After-School Activities and our Student Support Team. We are proud of our students’ achievements in sports and after-school activities. Our Milford’s sports teams have been performing exceptionally well, and we are thrilled to see our students’ hard work and dedication pay off. We believe that sports and after-school activities are an essential part of our students’ education, as they help develop teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. Extracurricular activities are not only beneficial for students’ academic performance but also for their mental health and emotional well-being. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), students who feel more connected to school are less likely to engage in risky behaviors such as alcohol or drug use, more likely to engage in positive health behaviors such as physical activity and healthy eating, more likely to have higher grades and test scores, have better school attendance, and graduate high school. In addition, our district has a School Student Support Team that is composed of a group of professionals who work together to provide students with the resources they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. This team includes teachers, counselors, administrators, and other support personnel who collaborate to identify and address the unique needs of each student. Our Student Support Team provides a range of services to students, including academic support, counseling, and referrals to community resources. We believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and we are committed to helping them achieve their goals. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s academic progress or well-being, please do not hesitate to contact our school counselor or myself.
