A big congrats to the CIA students for doing an amazing job on our field trip to the Clark Sports Center yesterday to celebrate Robert Burns! As Scotland's national poet, he is known for his heartfelt poems and songs that celebrate love, nature, and Scottish culture, including, "Auld Lang Syne." The students shared several poems, enjoyed the music of a bagpiper, ate some Scottish food, and witnessed the haggis ceremony. The haggis is carried into the dining room by the chef, led by a bagpiper, and presented in a ceremony. We were too skittish to try the haggis but for those of you who are not familiar, haggis is a traditional Scottish dish made of minced sheep's heart, liver, and lungs, mixed with oatmeal, spices and boiled in a sheep's stomach! π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ π
